Yewa north

November 28, (THEWILL) – Chairman of Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Dr Olusola Akinbode, has urged revenue collectors to intensify their efforts to boost Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) within the council.

Akinbode, who stated this at the meeting with staff of the LG, held at the Secretariat in Ayetoro, said his new government was fully ready to provide the necessary infrastructure needed by the people to improve their living conditions.

He tasked collectors to avoid leakages and wastages and shun all forms of indiscipline, laziness and absenteeism, insisting that Yawa North must be rated high in IGR generation to hasten modern development in the council.

“Yewa North must be rated high in IGR generation, although it is not easy. Thus, all efforts must be redoubled to attain the level so that the benefit will be for all residents of the council’’, he said.

The chairman also lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering commitment to the workforce in the state, particularly the payment of the new minimum wage of N77,000 as well as the provision of palliatives and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus for workers, among other beneficial initiatives.

Earlier, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) in the council, Mrs Oluseye Akinsola, and the Director of General Services Administration (DGSA), Mrs Anuoluwa Fatade, in their separate submissions, thanked Dapo Abiodun-led administration for supporting the 20 Local Governments.

They, however, canvassed for a conducive working environment and provision of adequate welfare packages for staffers of the local government, assuring the new administration of a mutual relationship with the politicians.
