I’ve Great Respect For Her – Obasanjo Eulogises Queen Elizabeth II

September 20, (THEWILL) – Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, said on Monday, that he had tremendous respect for the late queen of England, Elizabeth II, as her remains was laid to rest at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Obasanjo spoke when he granted interview with News Central TV at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Penthouse residence, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

He said that he had great respect for the late Head of Commonwealth of Nations, because of her personality, with great human relations, whom he equally had perfect relationship with.

The ex-president described the queen as a perfect and great woman, who carried herself graciously in a dignified manner, as he mourned with the rest of the world and Prince Charles, who promised to continue where she stopped.

He said that he was about leaving Secondary school, when the late Queen first visited the country in 1956, noting his relationship with the late queen of United Kingdom was perfect.

Obasanjo said, “My relationship with the Queen was perfect, she was a great, great woman, who had shown great example in human relationship. She carried herself so graciously, so dignified. She was somebody I have tremendous respect for.

“I join the rest of the world to mourn with her family, the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth (because she was the Head of Commonwealth), and the rest of the world. I also mourn with Prince Charles, who promised to continue from where she had stopped. My her soul rest in peace”, he added.
