
SAN FRANCISCO, July 12, (THEWILL) – Kamaru Usman, “The Nigerian Nightmare”, has defeated his opponent, Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision after 5 rounds of a grueling contest.
Usman, went into the game on a strong record of 16 victories and a loss from 17 previous fights, with the support of most UFC fans on the night.
Inspired by Burna Boy’s “Anybody” playing on the background, the Nigerian Nightmare, draped by the Nigerian flag danced to the Octagon to dish out a UFC masterclass against a highly rated and loud opposition. Masvidal had a 35-14-0 record before the fight.
By defeating Masvidal, Usman has doubled his BMF belt as he became the undisputed champion of the world in the UFC.
Kamaru said after the fight that Masvidal was a good opposition but he is just “a level above the rest, and always digs into his tool box when he needs to.”
