
January 06, (THEWILL) – The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Salman Dogo Garba, has charged the 272 newly promoted officers of the state Police Command to be patriotic, dedicated and committed in the discharge of their duties.
“Your new ranks come with new responsibilities that require patriotism, dedication and commitment to service. To whom honour is given much is expected”, Garba said.
He gave the charge while decorating the officers with their new ranks at the Police Officers Mess, Bumpai, Kano, on Monday.
He urged them to discharge the confidence reposed in them through careful regard to the rights of individuals and the protection of their properties.
“I wish to remind you that this is another challenge for you. As you are moving, your responsibilities are increasing. I wish you more success in your undertakings”, he said.
The commissioner said Kano citizens and Nigerians expect a lot from them, urging the newly promoted officers to be committed to duty with fear of God.
He said the newly promoted officers comprise 4 Chief Superintendents of Police CSPS to Assistant Commissioner of Police ACS, the first of their kind, 50 Superintendents of Police SP to Chief Superintendents of Police CSP, 32 Deputy Superintendents of Police DSP to Superintendents, and 182 Assistant Superintendents of Police ASP to Deputy Superintendents of Police DSP, totalling 272, CP Dogo explained.
Families of the newly-promoted officers were among the dignitaries who witnessed the event.
