January 06, (THEWILL) – Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has sworn in seven new commissioners, six permanent secretaries, and 13 special advisers as part of efforts to strengthen governance and deliver quality service to the people of the state.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Government House, was attended by invited dignitaries, political associates, and enthusiastic supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
The newly appointed commissioners and their portfolios include, Ibrahim Wayya– Commissioner for Information, Shehu Wada Sagagi – Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, Dahiru Muhammad Hashim – Commissioner for Environment, Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya – Commissioner for Finance, Gaddafi Shehu – Commissioner for Power and Sustainable Energy, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam – Commissioner for Rural and Community Development and Nura Iro Maaji – Commissioner for Public Procurement
Yusuf urged the appointees to approach their new roles with dedication and a strong commitment to delivering results.
He emphasised that the selection process was thorough, aimed at ensuring capable individuals were appointed to advance his administration’s vision of good governance.
“Our administration will continue to prioritize the delivery of critical infrastructure, quality education, improved healthcare, women and youth empowerment, water supply, and agricultural development,” Yusuf said.
He commended the Kano State House of Assembly for its support and cooperation in the government’s developmental agenda, pledging to sustain efforts toward a better Kano.
Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, Shehu Wada Sagagi, expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve.
“We are deeply honored by this trust. We assure Your Excellency that we will work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in us and fulfill the mandates of our respective offices,” Sagagi said.
