November 19, (THEWILL) – The 7th edition of the National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo is set to hold in Abuja, with five federal ministers, including Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN, and Minister of Culture, Arts, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Dr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, billed to participate.
The event will take place from Tuesday, December 3 to Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Velodrome, Package A, M.K.O. Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Anchored by the *Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN)*in collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders, this year’s theme is “Tourism Transportation Connectivity: Accelerating the Synergy for National Economic Development.”
The NTT Summit, which has become a flagship initiative of the ITPN, will feature a Host City Walk of Abuja, a Tourism Transport Summit, exhibitions, business-to-business and government-to-business sessions, a membership and fellowship induction ceremony, and a Gala Night with awards for deserving industry stakeholders.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Friday, ITPN National President and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Organizing Committee, *Abiodun Odusanwo, described the summit as a vital mechanism endorsed by the 15th National Council on Transportation to explore the synergy between tourism and transportation for national development.
“The summit underscores the connectivity that exists between tourism and transportation, a critical value chain for employment, inclusive growth, and sustainable economic development,” Odusanwo stated.
He emphasised the importance of implementing recommendations from previous editions to maximise the summit’s economic impact.
“This year’s summit takes into account the communiqués from past editions, ensuring their implementation as roadmaps for stakeholders to play their roles effectively. The focus remains on creating a collaborative synergy between tourism and transportation sectors to drive national economic growth,” he added.
Participants will include aviation administrators, airlines, maritime industry operators, road transport services, car hire and hail ride services, rail transport providers, and safety agencies like the FRSC.
Representatives from tourism and hospitality sectors, state tourism boards, museums, national parks, festival managers, and M.I.C.E operators will also be in attendance.
