
May 13, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Nelson Adepoyigi, the Ward 5 Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, saying Adepoyigi was seized on Monday evening at the entrance of his farm along the Ifon-Owo Road.
“I can confirm that the Chairman of APC Ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm. Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer in Ifon, in collaboration with local hunters, members of the vigilante group, and personnel of the Nigerian Army, launched a manhunt for the suspects,” Ayanlade said.
Community sources revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the victim’s family, demanding a ransom of N100 million for his release.
