LAGOS BRT

February 13, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State Government has announced an 18% increase in fares for its Bus Rapid Transit.

In a statement on Thursday, the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, said the increase, which would come into effect on Monday, 17th February 2025, was aimed at ensuring sustainability of the BRT.

The authority said the decision to hike the fares was reached due to the rising cost of diesel and the high number of buses that were out of operation due to the lack of spare parts.
