May 09, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State Government has announced the indefinite postponement of the planned repair works on the Ogudu/Oworonshoki Bridge.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, adding that a new commencement date would be communicated in due course.
Although no reason was given for the rescheduling, the government assured residents and motorists of its continued commitment to safety and minimal disruption as it carries out infrastructure upgrades across the state.
“We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued cooperation,” the statement read.
The state government had earlier, on April 30, announced that repair works would begin on Tuesday, May 6, and run in phases until Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The project was expected to necessitate a partial closure of the Oworonshoki/Third Axial Bridge for 110 days.
