July 08, (THEWILL) — Police in Ogun have arrested a 25-year-old, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, for allegedly killing his former boss, Kola Adun, at River Valley Estate, Ojodu Berger, and carting away his Toyota Camry car.
He was arrested when officers at Ojodu Abiodun police station received a distress call from one Mubarak in Akute about an unusual stench emanating from a residence.
Upon the call, the DPO, with his men, swung into action and moved to the scene of the event at Ogunmoyero Street, River Valley Estate, where they forcefully entered the premises and found the lifeless body of Mr Adun on the first floor.
Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
Odutola confirmed that the lifeless body of the victim was found bearing visible stab wounds, as bloodstains were seen at the scene, while his Toyota Camry with registration number No. LAGOS AAA 193 GC was missing.
She said suspicion was raised last Saturday when a friend of the deceased came to his residence to pick him up for church service and discovered that the gate was locked from the outside, and calls to the victim went unanswered before the phone went off.
The Police PRO explained that the deceased’s friend immediately alerted the family and reported the matter at Ojodu Abiodun Police Station.
She explained further that the suspect was caught while trying to sell the stolen vehicle of the deceased to a car dealer at Ijede, Ikorodu, who called the police, and he was arrested at the point of sale.
“Preliminary investigation indicated that his former driver, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, 25 years old, unlawfully entered the residence on Saturday, July 5, 2025, with the intent to rob. He stabbed Mr Adun to death and fled with the deceased’s vehicle.”
“A breakthrough occurred when the suspect attempted to sell the stolen vehicle to a car dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, suspicious of the suspect, contacted the police, leading to the suspect’s prompt arrest at the point of sale.”
“The remains of the deceased have been evacuated to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for autopsy, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and prosecution”, Odutola added.
