November 04, (THEWILL) – A middle aged man whose name has not been ascertained has cheated death in Calabar along the failed portion of the Yellow Duke Road.
The driver who was the lone occupant of the vehicle unfortunately drove into a massive hole and his vehicle overturned inside.
Concerned residents who witnessed the accident swung into action and expanded the massive hole before pulling out the driver alive.
He subsequently complained of back pains before he was taken to hospital for further examination.
Residents say the hole has been there for some time and the driver may have not have known of the existence of a massive hole on the road.
They however urged the government to swing into action before the hole claims lives.
Etim Ansa one of the residents said the failed portion of the road had been reconstructed some months ago but failed because of the poor quality of works done.
