January 28, (THEWILL) – The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Kazeem Sholola for allegedly pouring hot oil on his wife, Mutiat Sholola, and stabbing her in the head during a domestic dispute in the Owode-Egba area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Abeokuta over the weekend.
According to Odutola, the arrest followed a report from residents of the Ring Road community, who alerted the police about the violent act.
“It was reported that Kazeem Sholola, in uncontrollable anger during a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and stabbed her in the head,” Odutola stated.
She added that the victim was rushed to Ore Ofé Hospital, where she is currently receiving medical attention for her injuries.
The police spokesperson also disclosed that officers had examined the crime scene while the suspect was taken into custody and placed under investigation.
The command assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and reiterated its commitment to protecting victims of domestic violence in the state.
