January 06, (THEWILL) – The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Abeokuta, has appealed to the staff of the institution over non payment of their salaries for the months of November and December, 2021.
The Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, who stated this during a meeting with the academic and non-academic staff of the institution to usher in the New Year, assured them that such would not repeat itself again.
Odedeji stated that the institution had concluded plans to cushion the effect by paying the staff one month salary lamenting low revenue to be the cause of delay in the payment of their salaries.
He noted that he had contacted the state government over the payment of staff salaries, expressing hope that such action would yield a fruitful result in paying their November salary.
The Ag rector, who lamented that the money in the school’ account was not enough to pay the staff, expressed regret on the students’ stagnant school fees since 2017, attributing it to be the cause of the institution’s low revenue.
He said “It’s not that we do not have money in our own account but that money is not enough to pay the entire staff and that is why we have not been able to pay the November and December salaries”
“The management is not sleeping, we are thinking everyday. We made serous contact with government to assist us in paying salaries and i can assure you there is hope of one month salary”
“Since 2017, things have not been the same, the number of students admitted was down. Our school fees still remain stagnant and our revenue source was going down because of the stagnancy of our school.” he added.
