Massive Explosion As CNG Truck Loses Control In Abuja

March 19, (THEWILL) – A ghastly motor accident involving a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) truck and multiple vehicles occurred at the Karu Bridge, between Kugbo and Nyanya in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The accident, which happened at 7:14 PM, led to a massive explosion after the truck lost control of the bridge and rammed into other vehicles, causing a fiery crash.

Head of Forecasting, Response, and Mitigation Division at the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Mark Nyam, said rescue operations were ongoing.

“Emergency response teams, including FEMA, the Federal Fire Service, the FCT Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), are on the ground to manage the situation and rescue casualties”, Nyam stated.

While the number of casualties remains unclear, emergency responders are working to contain the fire and evacuate the injured.
