November 09, (THEWILL) – Former Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as National President of the Union.
Akinsanya was elected on Saturday, at the 19th Quadrennial Delegates Conference, held at the NURTW Zone 2 headquarters, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Ekiti State Branch Chairman of the Union, Chief Joseph Falope, nominated Akinsanya as the National President and was seconded by Mr Ademola Ojude from Ondo state branch.
Other executive officers including Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede (National Vice President) and Alhaji Hakeem Adeosun (Trustee), were also elected.
In his acceptance speech, Akinsanya commended the leadership of the union for their supports and love for NURTW in the South West and Nigeria at large.
Delegates from the four Southwest states of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti participated in the election.
