BEVERLY HILLS, August 30, (THEWILL) – Lionel Messi ignored coronavirus testing at Barcelona on Sunday as talks about his departure continue to gain ground.
Ahead of the new season, Barcelona stars including Luis Suarez, who is also being speculated to be departing from the club, arrived for Covid-19 testing on Sunday morning.
According to Spanish Newspaper, Marca, Messi’s absence indicates his unavailability for Barca’s pre-season training.
THEWILL reports that Messi sees himself as a free agent and has handed the club his transfer request even though the club insists he is still under contract until next year. Both parties are expected to reach a compromise before the start of the new season.
