March 17, (THEWILL) – The Executive Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Council, Honorable Vincent Bulus Venman, who has been embattled in the past two weeks for causing a security breach that embarrassed the State APC and the Lalong government, is in more trouble as reports indicate that Government House, Rayfield, is moving to sanction him, following last Tuesday’s dumping of the party by 12,000 members for the opposition PDP.
More disturbing to the Government House, Rayfield, cabal is the decampment of two former Chairmen of the Langtang South Council, including the immediate past Chairman, Rims Nimchak, who led the fearsome army of 12,000 into the PDP.
Apart from the waning fortunes of the APC through out the State ahead of the 2023 general elections, most of the decampees expressed solidarity with the Executive Chairman of Langtang North, Honorable Joshua Laven Ubandoma, currently haunted out of office by Governor Simon Lalong, who was physically assaulted by the embattled Lantang South Chairman during a Resettlement Day event at Sabon Gida in Langtang South.
The assault got messy when sympathisers meted mob action on the antagonising Langtang South chairman, manhandled him, before he was rescued and whisked out of the venue brutalised and ruffled, to bring the event to a sudden and inglorious end.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, the immediate past Chairman of Langtang South, Rims Nimchak, said matters actually got beyond the unacceptable conduct of the present chairman during the socio-cultural event at Sabon Gida.
Although the misconduct shamed the entire Taroh and scandalised the political class. He said the present APC in Plateau State has died as a result of Governor Lalong’s high-handedness and perpetuation of injustices in the party, and called on those who have hope for the future to “dump the APC now.”
A former Chairman of the APC in Plateau State, Honorable Letep Dabang, speaking at the occasion of welcoming decampees in Mabudi, Langtang South Local Government Headquarters, for the second time apologised to the people of Plateau for bringing Simon Lalong and the APC to power in the State, and promised to use the next general election to “untie the hyena.”
Describing the defections as crucial manifestation of the Great Movement that has just begun, he called on Reps Member, Hon Beni Lar and other PDP stalwarts, to accompany him to receive the next round of decampees, saying the next destination is Governor Simon Lalong’s Shendam home.
Meanwhile, Hon Beni Lar, who represents Lantang South/Langtang North Federal Constituency, used the occasion to launch Phase 5 of her campaign network, also announced the distribution of empowerment packages ranging from motor cycles to varieties of skills tools to agricultural enhancement equipment and cash for PDP stakeholders through out the Constituency.
The event which propelled the local Mabudi economy momentarily, was well attended, with some members of the PDP State Working Committee, SWC, including Bitrus Golen, Simon Domle, Binchen Jantur, John Akans, and Yakubu Gwott Chocho, Samaila Abubakar, and Damal Azi.
