
March 05, (THEWILL) — The Governing Council of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, at its 150th meeting held on February 10, 2026, considered and accepted the recommendations of the 88th and 89th meetings of the Appointments and Promotions Committee.
Following the council’s approval, eight new directorates were established, and directors appointed accordingly, to oversee the operations of the same in the Registry and Bursary Departments of the University.
With the development, the university now has a total of twenty-five directorates in operation.
Registrar/Secretary to the council, Mr Barnabas Terfa Hemba, in a release in Makurdi on Wednesday, said the decision was reached during the Council’s meeting as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the administrative structure of the university and enhance effective service delivery across key areas of its mandate.
He listed the newly created Directorates and their appointed Directors to include Information, Protocol and Public Relations, headed by Augustina Funmilayo Tolufashe; Central Administration and Legal Matters, with Nguamo Aondona Adi as head, while Human Resources Management is headed by Mr Aondover Nicholas Zwawua.
Others are Council and Management Affairs, has Dr Scholastica Ngunengen Banka, Academic Affairs, Dr Mfaga Modom; Budget and Expenditure, John Elaigwu Audu, Final Account and Reports, is headed by Mr Chris Akaa, while Stephen Vershima Akperan is in charge of Finance and Treasury.
According to the Registrar, the appointment is for a period of two years with effect from 10th February, 2026, and is subject to renewal by mutual agreement for another two years.
The release added that the establishment of these Directorates is to improve coordination, promote accountability and ensure greater efficiency in the administration of the institution’s academic and non-academic activities.
The newly appointed Directors, it stated, will bring their knowledge, experience and professionalism to bear in advancing the Vision and Mission of the University towards administrative and academic excellence.
