May 29, (THEWILL) – Governor Hyacinth Alia has stated that his quest to elevate Benue State to a higher level of development remains on course.

Speaking at the IBB Square to mark two years in office, the governor announced that Benue has witnessed improvements in the areas of agriculture, education, infrastructure, and youth employment through an ICT training centre and a fashion hub in the state.

He said the Benue State Education Quality Assurance, the establishment of a new University in the state, are efforts to bring education closer to the people of the state, while the new security outfit, Anyom Nyor, will help tackle terrorists and killer herders.

The procurement of 100 buses, prompt payment of salaries, and pension arrears without borrowing money from any financial house is a testament to the careful application of monies accruing to the state, among others.

According to him, the next four years in office will give him an opportunity to consolidate on the gains of the past, promising not to fail the Benue people.

He commended President Tinubu for the support to Benue State, the APC national and State chapter and other critical stakeholders, calling for unity that will make Benue work for everyone.

“Let me assure you that in the next six years, something great is awaited. Let all well-meaning people of the state come together”, he stated.

In a vote of thanks, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Rt. Honourable Paul Biam, commended the people of Benue state for standing by the Alia administration.

He said the adoption of Governor Alia as the sole governorship candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State was an affirmation that he has done well and would continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
