October 20, (THEWILL) — The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has inaugurated its Aviation Monitoring Committee ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Abdullahi Saleh Usman, who inaugurated the committee in Abuja, charged members to serve as diligent gatekeepers, ensuring transparent and impartial oversight of all aviation-related matters.

“For the Nigerian government under the visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu, facilitating this spiritual journey for its citizens is not just a statutory duty—it is a sacred trust.

“We are committed to ensuring that every Nigerian pilgrim performs their Ibadah in comfort and safety,” Usman stated.

“This Committee is not a decorative body; it is our commitment to pilgrim welfare. You are the gatekeepers entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring aviation matters affecting our pilgrims,” he added in a statement signed by his Technical Assistant on Media, Ahmad Muazu.

The Commissioner of Operations and Licensing, Prince Anofi Olanrewaju Elegushi, expressed gratitude to the chairman for the confidence reposed in the committee and pledged the team’s total commitment to its mandate.
