
BEVERLY HILLS, February 10, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has forwarded the names of nine legal luminaries to the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, and Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission, Justice Walter Samuel Onnoghen, for appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
This is in response to a request by the Acting CJN to the President of NBA, Abubakar Mahmoud SAN, for the bar “to nominate suitable candidate for consideration as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria”.
Consequent upon this, a rigorous process of shortlisting was carried out by a select committee chaired by the NBA President, Abubakar Mahmoud, with eight other eminent lawyers as members.
The committee came up with the names of nine eligible applicants
for appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court. Their names, year they were called to bar and their respective states are presented below:
