March 03, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has reinstated the Air Operator Certificate of Omni-Blu Aviation Limited, clearing the airline of any wrongdoing.
The certificate, numbered OBA/AOC/12-15/002, was restored following an appeal against its earlier revocation.
Omni-Blu’s AOC was withdrawn on January 30, 2025, over allegations of violating Part 1.2.1.5 of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs).
However, in a letter dated February 28, 2025, the NCAA stated that further evidence presented during the appeal process showed that the falsified readout report for avionics equipment on a Sikorsky S76C+ helicopter (MSN 760486, Reg. Mark 5N-BQG) was facilitated by the aircraft’s owner, Eastwind Aviation Limited, and not Omni-Blu Aviation.
The regulatory agency determined that Omni-Blu had no active participation in the falsification process and was unaware of any wrongdoing.
Reacting to the decision, Omni-Blu Aviation expressed gratitude to the NCAA’s appeal review panel and Director-General for conducting a thorough and impartial review of the case.
“We also wish to thank our clients, customers, stakeholders, industry friends, and well-wishers who stood by us, believing in our integrity during this difficult period,” the airline stated.
Omni-Blu Aviation, which marks its tenth year of commercial flight operations in 2025, reaffirmed its commitment to regulatory compliance, safety, and excellent service delivery.
It emphasised that it has never engaged in unethical practices to secure certifications or approvals from the NCAA.
