October 21, (THEWILL) — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has launched an online platform to simplify the process of obtaining drug integrity tests and visa clearance certificates for Nigerians and institutions.
The new platform, the Drug Integrity Test and Visa Clearance Administration System (DITViCAS), was unveiled by NDLEA Chairman, Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Marwa, who was represented by the agency’s Secretary, Mr Shadrach Haruna, said the innovation marks a major step in improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery within the NDLEA.
He explained that applicants can now log on to www.drugandvisa.ndlea.gov.ng to create accounts, book appointments, and complete applications for either the Drug Integrity Test or Visa Clearance Certificate without visiting NDLEA offices.
Marwa noted that the new system will help eliminate manual bottlenecks, enhance certificate verification, and curb the forgery of drug test or visa clearance documents. He added that the platform allows accredited private medical centres to partner with the NDLEA in conducting drug integrity tests, thereby expanding access and reducing delays.
“The digital system will ensure real-time supervision, faster processing, and guarantee certificate authenticity”, he said.
Marwa stated that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on digital governance and accountability in public service.
The NDLEA boss further noted that the innovation supports the agency’s strategy to reduce both drug supply and demand, while promoting transparency in institutions and the travel clearance process.
Marwa urged Nigerians, institutions, embassies, and corporate organisations to adopt the new platform to enhance integrity and efficiency in drug testing and visa clearance procedures.
