April 25, (THEWILL) – A non-governmental organisation, Sokoto Professionals Network (SPN), is set for its formal inauguration, swearing-in of Exco members and registered professionals in Sokoto state.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Network’s Director of Media and Publicity, Dalhatu Sirajo Sifawa, shortly after the Pre-Inauguration and Development Endowment Fund Launching meeting, which was held at BUA Cement Guest House, Sokoto, on Monday.

The inauguration, according to the statement, will birth promotional development in professionalism among professionals of Sokoto State origin, in the field of sciences, humanity and art, both in Nigeria and globally.

The statement quoted the Chairman of the Incorporated Trustees of Sokoto Professionals Network, Engineer Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, as saying the formal inauguration of the organisation and its members is to be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in Sokoto, the seat of the caliphate.

Engineer Yabo explained that in the two years membership drive of the organisation, huge successes have been recorded with hundreds of professionals of Sokoto origins being registered both at home in Nigeria and abroad.

He added that the aim of establishing the Network is to partner and collaborate with stakeholders for the development of the state, promote and enhance sustainable professionalism, and through advocacy and reorientation programmes.

Engineer Yabo, furthermore, said the Network also aimed to build capacity and human resource development, as well as initiate projects and programmes that would develop skills and scholarship activities amongst Sokoto youths, irrespective of their status or gender for state and nation-building.

During the meeting, three committees were constituted to oversee an outstanding inauguration of the Network.

The Central Planning and Coordinating Committee is to be chaired by Engineer Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, Venue and Programme Committee is to be headed by Dr Nurudeen Abubakar Mohammed, while the Media and Mobilisation Committee is to be led by Dalhatu Sirajo Sifawa.
