March 27, (THEWILL) — Trading on the Nigerian Exchange Limited closed slightly negative as losses outweighed gains across key counters.

Market capitalisation declined from ₦128.997 trillion at the opening of trading on Friday to ₦128.969 trillion at the close. Similarly, the All-Share Index (ASI) fell by 44.83 points, dropping from 200,957.89 to settle at 200,913.06.

Market breadth closed in the negative with 33 gainers against 36 losers.

Top Gainers
1. Premier Paints Plc rose 9.97 percent (from ₦34.10 to ₦37.50).
2. Zico Holdings Plc gained 9.97 percent, (advancing from ₦12.54 to ₦13.79).
3. McNichols Plc climbed 9.93 percent (from ₦6.75 to ₦7.42).
4. John Holt Plc increased by 9.86 percent (to ₦18.95 from ₦17.25).
5. Trans-Nationwide Express Plc appreciated by 9.75 percent, (moving from ₦2.36 to ₦2.59).

Top Losers
1. Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc declined by 10.00 percent (from ₦11.00 to ₦9.90).
2. Cadbury Nigeria Plc dropped 10.00 percent (from ₦70.00 to ₦63.00).
3. Eterna Plc fell 10.00 percent from (₦37.50 to ₦33.75).
4. eTranzact International Plc lost 10.00 percent, (declining from ₦23.00 to ₦20.70).
5. DAAR Communications Plc shed 9.50 percent (from ₦2.00 to ₦1.81).

Meanwhile, stocks such as Dangote Cement Plc, Custodian Investment Plc, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, DN Tyre & Rubber Plc, and Champion Breweries Plc closed unchanged at the end of the trading session.

The session reflected cautious investor sentiment as the market recorded marginal declines despite pockets of gains in selected equities.
