May 12, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian equities market sustained its upward momentum on Tuesday, as continued buying interest across several stocks pushed key performance indicators higher.
At the close of trading, the market capitalisation increased from ₦160.256 trillion at the opening of the session to ₦161.774 trillion, representing a gain of ₦1.518 trillion. Similarly, the All-Share Index (ASI) advanced from 250,485.54 points to close at 252,411.67 points, reflecting a positive performance across the market.
Market breadth closed in positive territory as 45 equities recorded gains while 36 stocks declined, indicating moderate bullish sentiment among investors.

IKEJAHOTEL gained 10.00 percent, (rising from ₦36.00 to ₦39.60).
UPL appreciated by 10.00 percent, (advancing from ₦4.00 to ₦4.40).
UHOMREIT increased by 10.00 percent, (moving from ₦77.00 to ₦84.70).
ZICHIS rose by 9.98 percent, (from ₦36.69 to ₦40.35).
FTNCOCOA added 9.97 percent, (climbing from ₦9.13 to ₦10.04).
Top Decliners
FTGINSURE fell by 9.65 percent, (dropping from ₦1.14 to ₦1.03).
CUSTODIAN declined by 9.52 percent, (easing from ₦89.80 to ₦81.25).
NPFMCRFBK shed 8.33 percent, (falling from ₦6.00 to ₦5.50).
AIICO lost 7.74 percent, (slipping from ₦4.78 to ₦4.41).
HONYFLOUR dropped 5.41 percent, (declining from ₦18.50 to ₦17.50).
Meanwhile, several equities closed unchanged during the session, including Dangote Cement, Seplat Energy, Julius Berger Nigeria, Okomu Oil Palm, Golden Guinea Breweries, and Nestlé Nigeria, among others.
Overall, the session reflected sustained investor confidence, with gains in several mid- and small-cap stocks supporting the continued upward movement of the market.
