
May 08, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian equities market closed on a strong note on Friday, as renewed buying interest across key counters pushed the benchmark indices sharply higher.
Market capitalisation rose from ₦153.858 trillion to ₦157.094 trillion, representing a ₦3.236 trillion gain, while the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) advanced from 239,734.61 points to 244,775.83 points.
The positive performance was supported by broad investor participation, with the market recording 45 gainers against 31 losers during the trading session.

1. Industrial and Medical Gases Nigeria Plc fell 10.00 percent, (declining from ₦47.00 to ₦42.30).
