December 15, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian equities market closed marginally higher on Monday, December 15, 2025, as modest bargain hunting in select stocks offset selloffs across other counters.

Market capitalisation edged up slightly to close at N95.267 trillion from an opening level of N95.264 trillion, while the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) inched higher by 3.62 points to close at 149,437.88, compared with an opening level of 149,433.26.

Market breadth closed positive, with twenty-eight (28) gainers against twenty-three (23) losers, reflecting a mildly bullish sentiment.

The top gainers for the day include:

SOVEREIGN TRUST INSURANCE PLC (SOVRENINS) advanced by 10.00 percent, (rising from N3.40 to N3.74).

GUINNESS NIGERIA PLC appreciated by 9.96 percent, (closing at N239.50 from N217.80).

MECURE INDUSTRIES PLC gained 9.88 percent, (moving from N37.95 to N41.70).

AIICO INSURANCE PLC rose by 9.86 percent, (from N3.45 to N3.79).

FIRST HOLDCO PLC also added 9.86 percent, (closing at N34.55 from N31.45).

The top losers for the day were:

PRESTIGE ASSURANCE PLC declined by 10.00 percent, (from N1.70 to N1.53).

FTN COCOA PROCESSORS PLC shed 8.16 percent, (closing at N4.50 from N4.90).

GUINEA INSURANCE PLC fell by 7.69 percent, (from N1.17 to N1.08).

ROYALEX EXCHANGE ASSURANCE PLC dipped 7.25 percent, (from N1.93 to N1.79).

NIGERIAN BREWERIES PLC lost 6.86 percent, (closing at N76.75 from N82.40).

Stocks that closed unchanged at the end of the session include Dangote Cement Plc, Lafarge Africa Plc, Custodian Investment Plc, Seplat Energy Plc, and Julius Berger Plc.
