SAN FRANCISCO, February 08, (THEWILL) – The clamour for State Police in Nigeria got a surprise boost on Thursday as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo publicly backed the calls for decentralisation of the Nigeria Police.

Osinbajo, speaking at the ongoing National Assembly Summit on National Security maintains that there is no way a centralized police can effectively police the nation.

He declared that state and community policing is the option and solution to the numerous security challenges in the country.
