June 8 (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, hosted Madagascar’s President, Michael Randrianirina, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as both countries move to deepen diplomatic relations and strengthen bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
President Randrianirina arrived at the State House Forecourt at about 2:57 p.m. on a courtesy visit and was received by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
Following a brief reception ceremony, the Madagascan leader was escorted to President Tinubu’s office for bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening ties between the two African nations.
THEWILL gathered that the meeting focused on areas of mutual interest, including regional development, economic cooperation, trade expansion and continental integration, as both countries continue efforts to strengthen partnerships capable of advancing growth and development across Africa.
Nigeria and Madagascar have continued to pursue closer cooperation in sectors considered strategic to economic growth and sustainable development, with both nations seeking to enhance engagement on initiatives capable of delivering shared benefits to their citizens.
