The former governor, who said the election at his polling unit went peacefully, expressed confidence that he would win the senatorial seat, while asking Nigerians, especially the people of Ogun State to come out and vote for a better Nigeria.

He said: “So far, so good that voting here has gone very peacefully, the conduct here I think is near perfect and everybody is excited that there is absolutely no problem. Wherever they are, everybody should come out and exercise their civic responsibility.

“We have yet another opportunity to rewrite another course of history and we are hoping that with a new government in place, a lot and good things will happen in our country. I am optimistic because I think I have given a good account of myself. The turnout could be better but you see it is too early in the day and there has been military presence everywhere and i am hoping people will turn out in the afternoon.”
