October 22, (THEWILL) — The Federal Government has assured civil servants that the ongoing upgrade of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) software will not delay the payment of October salaries.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) dismissed reports suggesting that the software transition might disrupt salary payments, describing such claims as “misleading and unfounded.”
According to the OAGF, the IPPIS previously operated three payroll platforms. In 2024, one of the platforms was successfully migrated to the SoftSuite application, leaving two active systems—EBS and SoftSuite.
The statement noted that the Federal Government decided to consolidate all payroll activities under the SoftSuite platform following persistent performance challenges with the EBS system.
“The decision to consolidate all payroll operations under the SoftSuite application is not new but part of a phased upgrade to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability,” the OAGF said.
It assured federal workers that the migration process has been carefully managed and that “while minor technical issues may arise during the transition, all observed errors and omissions are being addressed promptly.”
“The management does not anticipate any significant disruptions to salary payments,” the statement concluded.
