November 07, (THEWILL) – Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Adeola Azeez, has donated an ultrasound scanning machine to Isiwo community in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Azeez, while presenting the machine to the management of Ayeteju Health Care Centre, Isiwo, said that the scanning machine would reduce maternal mortality in pregnant women.
She said that the machine, which was provided through the Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation, would not only serve pregnant women, but also other healthcare challenges.
The ex-banker, also volunteered to fund the training of the doctor that would operate the machine for better use, advising the pregnant women to submit themselves for the use of the machine.
She said, “I am here to present a scanning machine to Isiwo Heath community centre. This is because one of the omens in the community asked. The machine will definitely help to reduce maternal mortality in pregnant women.
“One of the questions raised by a doctor here is that the doctor who will use the machine needs to be trained and I am committing myself to facilitate the training of that doctor. And I was also told that the machine is not for pregnant women alone and could be used for other things because it is a multipurpose asset.
“The Management of the health centre should consider themselves lucky to be one of the centres to benefit from what teaching hospitals also have. And Our pregnant women should submit themselves to regular investigation that this machine will provide”, she added.
