December 16, (THEWILL) – The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has heightened security operations across the state in preparation for the festive and New Year celebrations.
In a statement issued by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the State Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, emphasised the need for collective efforts in ensuring a safe and secure environment during the holidays.
Ganzallo called on landlords, landladies, community leaders, and religious heads to actively promote security consciousness within their communities. He urged stakeholders to raise awareness and foster collaboration to prevent crime during the festive period.
The Commander directed Zonal and Area Commanders of the Corps to bolster surveillance and enforcement measures across the state.
The heightened operations, scheduled to run from December 15, 2024, to January 10, 2025, aim to safeguard law-abiding residents, visitors, and commuters.
Ganzallo reiterated the Corps’ commitment to combating criminal activities, including cultism, robbery, and theft.
He also warned residents against boarding suspicious “One Chance” vehicles to avoid falling victim to kidnappings or ritual-related crimes.
“Beware of ‘One Chance’ scams, kidnappings for ransom, or ritual purposes,” Ganzallo said.
He assured the public of the Corps’ ongoing collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to maintain peace and order in Ogun State.
