August 18, (THEWILL) – The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has congratulated Senator Dave Umahi on his appointment as Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze said it was hopeful about the appointment of Umahi, as the Federal Minister of Works, who it described as a “champion of infrastructural revolution” in Ebonyi State during his tenure as governor.
Ohanaeze said it was confident that Umahi would replicate the “Ebonyi magic” in tackling the infrastructural deficiencies in Nigeria.
The organisation also urged other Igbo Ministers appointed by President Tinubu to be worthy ambassadors of the Igbo people.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Senator Dave Umahi as Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Umahi is a man of proven capacity and integrity, and we are confident that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the task of fixing Nigeria’s infrastructure.
“Umahi is a champion of infrastructural revolution. During his tenure as governor of Ebonyi State, he transformed the State from a rural State into one of the most developed states in Nigeria. He built roads, Flyovers, hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure that have improved the lives of the people of Ebonyi.
“We are confident that Umahi will replicate the Ebonyi magic in tackling the infrastructural deficiencies in Nigeria. We urge him to work hard and deliver on the mandate given to him by President Tinubu, in line with the RENEWED HOPE agenda of the Federal Government.
“We also urge the other Igbo Ministers appointed by President Tinubu to be worthy ambassadors of the Igbo people. They should work hard to promote the interests of the Igbo people and to ensure that the Igbo are given a fair share of the national cake,” Isiguzoro said.
