Okpebholo Orders Arrest of Black Axe Leader

Monday Okpebholo

May 13, (THEWILL) – Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi, to immediately arrest and prosecute Olorogun Ese Kakor, President of the Neo Black Movement (NBM), popularly known as Black Axe.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the Governor accused Kakor of forging government documents purportedly authorizing him to offer assistance to schools in the Edo South Senatorial District.

Describing the act as criminal, fraudulent, and an affront to the integrity of the state’s governance structure, Okpebholo alleged that the forgery was carried out in collaboration with certain junior civil servants within the state bureaucracy.

The Governor urged security agencies to intensify their crackdown on cult groups and other criminal organizations operating in the state.

He added that legal consultations were already underway to initiate further actions against the group.
