November 21, (THEWILL) – Olajumoke Orisaguna, the former bread hawker turned model who shot to fame in 2016 after walking into a photo shoot with British rapper Tinie Tempah, has resurfaced in the public eye as a radio presenter.
She also revealed the harrowing details of her experience with domestic abuse.
Orisaguna, now hosting a talk show titled Kilon Shele, shared her story of enduring a toxic relationship with her ex-husband, Sunday Orisaguna, whom she accused of physical abuse, emotional manipulation, and tarnishing her reputation after their separation.
Speaking candidly, Olajumoke recounted her early struggles in Ire, Osun State, where she lived in a hostile environment in her husband’s family house.
She described how her mother-in-law mistreated her and how her ex-husband frequently sided with his mother, often resorting to physical violence.
“He would beat me to the extent that my face and body would be swollen. Sometimes, he even used a belt,” she said.
Her move to Lagos in January 2016, initially to work in a bakery, marked a turning point in her life.
It was there she accidentally stumbled into the famous photo shoot captured by celebrity photographer TY Bello, catapulting her to stardom.
Despite her newfound fame, the abuse followed her to Lagos. Olajumoke revealed that Sunday joined her in the city and continued the physical and emotional torment.
“Even in the house rented for me in Surulere, he would still beat me up,” she disclosed, adding that she felt compelled to hide the abuse from those around her, including TY Bello.
She explained that her ex-husband’s actions, coupled with his accusations of infidelity, undermined her modeling career.
“He started monitoring me when I went to work. If I came back late from photoshoots, he would accuse me of sleeping around,” she said.
Now separated for almost four years, Olajumoke has embraced a new chapter in her life.
Her radio show Kilon Shele will delve into her personal experiences, including her battles with exploitative managers and the challenges she faced due to her lack of formal education.
“This is the first time I’m speaking out about these issues.
“My show is about sharing my story and empowering others through my journey,” she said.
