November 17, (THEWILL) – Incumbent governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, has secured majority votes in fifteen of the eighteen local government results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) so far.
The Returning Officer of the election and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi, announced the results at the INEC Collation Centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to the results, Aiyedatiwa polled 301,113 votes ahead of his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PD), Agboola Ajayi, who scored 97, 051 votes. He also won all the fifteen local council areas.
Meanwhile, the collation of results of the remaining three council areas will resume mid-day, this Sunday.
