
November 16, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded over 90% of polling units’ results of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, on its Result Viewing (IReV) portal.
Checks on the website by THEWILL at about 7.20 pm, revealed 93.06 per cent of the results have been uploaded, covering 3, 660 results out of 3,933 polling units.
Eighteen registered political parties, comprising the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress, and former deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party, among others, were cleared to participate in the poll.
THEWILL observed that the election was a straight contest between the incumbent governor and PDP’s Ajayi.
Ajayi, who voted in his Polling Unit 004, Apoi Ward II in Kiribo, Ese Odo local government area, polled 194 votes to defeat Aiyedatiwa, who had just three votes.
Similarly, Aiyedatiwa who voted at his Polling Unit 5, Ugbo Ward 4, Obenla community in Ilaje Local Government Area, secured 72 votes to beat Ajayi, who scored 27 votes.
