
November 21, (THEWILL) – One person has died in an auto crash that occurred on Sunday when a bus collided into a truck at Onipepeye Village along Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway area of Ogun State.
Three persons also sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident
The crash involved a White Toyota Coaster bus with Reg No AAB-686YJ and a MAN DIESEL white truck with no Reg Number
Eyewitness account said that the cause of the auto crash was reckless driving on the part of the bus driver who failed to comply and maintain a lane as traffic was already diverted.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE) Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi said that the bus driver’s reckless driving despite diverting the traffic made him lost control and rammed the vehicle onto to truck resulting to the death of one person
The TRACE Spokesperson explained that four occupants were involved in the crash, while three( two male and one female) sustained injuries, the remaining one person( male) died on spot.
He said that two of the victims were taken to General Hospital Ijaye, while the third victim was taken to an unknown Hospital by the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
Akinbiyi noted that body bus driver under the truck was later recovered and taken to the Mortuary of General Hospital Ijaye, Abeokuta
He added that the vehicles had been removed from the road while the traffic earlier affected had returned to normalcy
