May 26, (THEWILL) – At least one person has been injured in an explosion which occurred on Monday afternoon at a bus-stop along the Mararaba-Nyanya expressway in Abuja.
The Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the incident occurred at about 2:50 p.m. at the bus stop opposite the Mogadishu cantonment in Asokoro.
While the injured male victim was rescued at the scene and currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital, Adeh said, “The affected area was swiftly cordoned off for clearance and forensic analysis to ensure the safety of commuters and residents.”
The FCT Police image maker, who urged residents to remain calm, said the police have commenced a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact cause and nature of the explosion.
