February 02, (THEWILL) – At least one person has been killed and eight others abducted by bandits who attacked the Jimlari community in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State on Saturday night.
Residents said the heavily armed bandits invaded the community in large numbers, shooting sporadically.
They said most of those abducted were children aged seven, 10, and 12.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Abdullahi Usman, said security forces, including the police, military, and other agencies, have been deployed to the area.
He assured that efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
