June 1 (THEWILL) — The newly elected National President of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade Dr Otunba Oladiti, is a dependable, disciplined, humble, goal-oriented, transparent, and conscientious leader who has pursued whatever cause he believes in with courage.
At a time when the NUPENG was yearning for good practical leadership, Dr Oladiti emerged as a refreshing and credible choice. This is because his background reflects preparedness. His experience reflects capacity. His journey shows resilience, and his vision reflects hope for a better, stronger, and more progressive Union.
Without an iota of doubt, the story of Comrade Oladiti goes far beyond mere leadership; it is a compelling reflection of service, competence, preparation, and an unwavering commitment towards making a meaningful impact in the NUPENG.
Otunba Oladiti is a man with outstanding skills to deeply consolidate the existing bridge of oneness among the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers.
Moreso, the Port-Harcourt zone Chairman of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), a branch of the NUPENG, Comr. Joseph Okafor, is a man of the people whose leadership has positively brought a rapid turnaround to the petroleum Tanker drivers. It is on record that he is going to achieve more through his strong relationship with the elected visionary President, Comrade (Dr.) Salimon Oladiti JP.
Okafor is someone who has the interest of his people at heart. He has always stated that Tanker drivers are dying for Nigerians, urging the public to always clear the roads for safety. Conscious of the welfare of the petroleum tanker drivers. He decries the attitudes of other road users, knowing well that petroleum tankers transport highly flammable substances that could wreak havoc if not properly managed.
Comrade Okafor’s people-oriented conduct has led groups to honour him with awards for having given the leadership a human face. He controls 10 states, including Rivers, Imo, Akwa- Ibom, Bayelsa, Enugu, Anambra, Benue, Ebonyi, Abia and Cross River.
As a man who epitomises teamwork, unity of purpose, and cooperation, he played a major role during the electioneering of the newly elected President of the NUPENG, Comrade (Dr.) Otunba Salimon Akanni Oladiti (JP).
The emergence of Oladiti as the union’s president was made a reality by dint of commitment. Comrade Okafor and his co-chairmen had demonstrated during their official duties, and the confidence the general public also reposed in him as a quintessential National President.
Comrade Okafor described Oladiti as a man of unimpeachable integrity, a leader par excellence, considering his antecedents in their Union, and that he is a square peg in a square hole.
Oladiti is known as a selfless national president of NUPENG, whose members’ welfare is paramount to him. His landmark achievements and legacies remain timeless.
A leader with uncommon capacity is not measured by the loudness of his promises or oratory prowess, but by his ability to see further than the immediate crisis. Comrade Oladiti has shown this capacity of being a good leader.
His approach aligns with that model — practical, forward-looking, and grounded in the understanding that leadership is stewardship.
With Oladiti and Okafor being at the helm of affairs, the NUPENG and PTD shall be taken to greater heights in all ramifications. So shall it be!
