November 26, (THEWILL) — A coalition of opposition leaders under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently holding a high-level closed-door meeting at the party’s newly inaugurated National Headquarters in the Wuse district of Abuja.
The strategic gathering has drawn notable political heavyweights across party lines, signalling what insiders describe as “a major step toward realigning the opposition ahead of the 2027 General Elections.”
Among those in attendance are former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, ADC National Chairman David Mark, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal. Several other opposition figures and influential political actors are also present.
While the agenda of the meeting has not been officially disclosed, the meeting comes days after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar collected his membership registration card with the ADC.
Party sources say discussions at the meeting are expected to focus on strengthening inter-party collaboration, shaping a unified opposition stance, and exploring broader political alliances capable of challenging the ruling establishment.
The newly unveiled ADC National Headquarters, which serves as the backdrop for the talks, has been described by party officials as a symbol of the party’s renewed drive to position itself at the centre of Nigeria’s political realignment.
