April 09, (THEWILL) – Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, on Wednesday led a high-powered delegation of the Labour Party to the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja to submit a Certified True Copy of the recent Supreme Court judgment concerning the party’s leadership.
The delegation was received by Sam Olumekun, alongside other National Commissioners of INEC.
The Supreme Court had recently ruled on the internal leadership crisis within the party, nullifying the tenure of Julius Abure as the National Chairman.
Addressing the commission, Otti said the visit was aimed at fostering clarity, mutual understanding, and institutional alignment with respect to the Labour Party’s current leadership structure, in line with the apex court’s decision.
In his remarks, Olumekun restated INEC’s commitment to upholding neutrality, transparency, and the rule of law in the discharge of its constitutional duties, particularly as they relate to political parties and elections.
