
December 11, (THEWILL) — Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was on Thursday rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa after slumping while attending to official duties at the Government House, Yenagoa.
The incident, which occurred in the early afternoon, was said to have happened suddenly, prompting staff to raise an alarm as security aides and senior officials quickly moved in for emergency treatment at FMC.
His media aide, Doubara Atasi, confirmed the development. However, a senior medical official familiar with the case, who asked not to be named, said Ewhrudjakpo was receiving full medical attention.
As of the time of filing this report, the Bayelsa State Government had not issued an official statement.
