
November 27, (THEWILL) – A Divisional Police Officer (DPO) attached to Federal Housing Estate Police Station, Calabar, CSP Joseph Inuyashi, and fifty others have earned an award of honour.
The award was presented to the awardees by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) during its s 2021 Security Summit themed “Security Now Everybody’s Business”.
Other beneficiaries include Abdulhameed Awodi, head of the anti- kidnapping/anti-cultism squad as well as the head of the Puff Adder unit, Horsefor Minafuro.
The Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan, while handing over the laurels to the award recipients stated that the recognition is sequel to the outstanding performance of the serving officers.
“The officers standing on the row are men who have distinguished themselves in their field of discipline.
‘Inuyanshi, this award is coming to you for your stride in crime fighting,” the CP maintained.
Also speaking, Chief Etim Bassey of the PCRC described Inuyashi as a dogged police officer who dedicated all his life to crime fighting and ensuring that youth involvement in criminality reduced drastically.
“Inuyashi is one police man known for crime reduction has empowered many young men and provided means of livelihood for the young people so that they indulge in criminality again,” he said.
David Amiye, the PCRC state chairman, said the summit is timely and also stressed that the trend of crime will be overcome when security is everybody business.
He said the PCRC was introduced by the former inspector general of police Etim Inyang and is an integral aspect of community policing.
He also described it as the most ensuring national programme in Nigeria.
