December 08, (THEWILL) — The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the constitution of an Appeal Panel to address all grievances arising from the recently conducted Osun State Governorship Primary Election for the 2026 gubernatorial race.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party disclosed that the panel is set to commence sitting on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Bauchi Governors Lodge, Tatari Ali House, behind ECOWAS Secretariat, Asokoro District, Abuja, with proceedings beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Leading the 24-member panel is Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, who will serve as Chairman, while Amb. Taofeek Arapaja has been appointed Secretary. Other notable members include former lawmakers, political stalwarts, and party operatives from across the country, reflecting a broad regional representation.
The panel also includes Dr Daniel Ambrose Woyengikuro, Alh. Hamza Akuyan Koshe, Ihediwa Richard Nnabugwu, Isa Abubakar, Okechukwu Obiechina Daniel, Hon. Theophilus Daka Shan, Comr. Ini Ememobong, MNIPR, Hon. Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Barr. Bara’u Shafi’i, among others.
In addition, Emmanuel Ekpe and Suleiman Usman have been appointed as Administrative Secretaries to ensure smooth coordination of the panel’s activities.
According to the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Daka Shan, the panel is mandated to operate strictly within the framework of the PDP Constitution (2025, as amended), the Electoral Guidelines for Party Primaries, and the Electoral Act, 2022. It urged all aspirants and stakeholders to cooperate fully with the panel to ensure a transparent and fair resolution of all disputes arising from the Osun Governorship Primary.
This development marks a critical step in the PDP’s preparations for the 2026 elections, as the party seeks to maintain internal cohesion and uphold democratic processes ahead of the general polls.
THEWILL reports that the PDP, last Tuesday, elected Adebayo Adedamola, popularly known as Fryo, as its Osun governorship candidate following a smooth and decisive primary election held at Adolak Hall, Osogbo.
