April 14, (THEWILL) – A youth group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the immediate review of the party’s performance in the 2023 general election across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Group, PDP Young Democrats, also called on the party’s acting Chairman, Umar Damagum, to convene, without further delay, a National Executive Committee meeting to resolve outstanding issues affecting the party.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the Spokesperson for the group, Alaibi Joseph, also demanded the immediate resignation of the PDP National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, who earlier in the week, emerged as the party’s governorship candidate in Imo State.

According to results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who scored 6,984,520 votes.
Also, the results of the National Assembly poll so far declared, showed the APC controls 57 seats while the PDP has 28 and the Labour Party (LP) has 7.
The ruling party also dominates the House of Representatives with 162 seats, the major opposition party, PDP has 102 and LP controls 34.
In the governorship election held in 28 states on March 18, the APC won 15 states, the PDP 9, and the LP and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), won one state, each.
Elections in Adamawa and Kebbi were declared inconclusive by the INEC.
