
November 11, (THEWILL) – The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company has attributed the recent power outage in parts of Calabar, Cross River State, to a severe windstorm that struck the area on Saturday evening, damaging multiple components of its network.
In an official statement, PHED explained that the storm caused disruption, breaking poles and cables across several feeders.
Areas affected include OLAM, Bao Yao Iron and Steel, Federal Housing, EPZ Complex, MCC, Niger Mills, 8 Miles, UNICAL, Amika, Essien Town, Transcorp, EPZ 1, Diamond, and Leopard.
The company however assured residents that it is working diligently to restore electricity to the impacted areas as quickly as possible.
